First, a THANK YOU to all the poll workers! They are there long before and after us, making sure every citizen can cast their vote. The what-to-vote might not always be clear, but the how-to-vote process should be. Thank you, election officials and workers. Thank you, voting advocates and those who offer rides.
Second, a PRAYER FOR US inspired by the Peace Prayer often attributed to St. Francis.
Loving God, make us instruments of Your peace on this Election Day and beyond. Where there is division, let us sow unity; where there is anger, let us bring understanding; where there is doubt, let us rebuild trust, where there is despair, let us plant hope. Where our neighbors feel unheard, may we listen; Where our communities feel broken, may we bring healing; Where the fabric of our nation feels torn, may we be menders, not further tearers. Help us to listen well to You and one another, honoring each voice, listening to understand, and seeking the common good. Guide our leaders and us toward justice, compassion, humility and love. Yes, love. For love is how they will know who we are and to Whom we belong. Loving God, make us instruments of Your peace on this Election Day and beyond for the glory of God and the good of the world. Amen
